Steintór Rasmussen (July 23, 1960) is a Faroese songwriter, author, entrepreneur, composer publisher and music festival organizer. Rasmussen is also a qualified teacher.

“Already when I was 7 I became very fascinated by chess. The beautiful and engaging board game still gives me rich and exiting moments”, Rasmussen says, and adds that playing chess from an early age might have a tremendous influence on you as person. “A chess player must always see the opportunities in the current situation, as well as be aware of that a good plan is only half of the way while new ideas, creativity and practical decisions lead you closer to the goal.”

The ability to see opportunities in the current moment as well as to plan far ahead into the future might explain why Rasmussen has managed to produce works of art and ideas for many decades. Not many have written and translated more songs to the Faroese people. He has also written songs and melodies for others to perform. As a young entrepreneur he organized a local youth club and later several music events and festivals. He has experience as manager and publisher and his name is linked to the popular Faroese pop/folk band Frændur, singer/songwriter Brandur Enni, Kular Røtur, a family friendly band aimed for children, and the annual music festival in Klaksvík, Summerfestivalurin.

In November 2015 he published an autobiography titled “Lívið er mítt Listaverk” which includes memories, reflections, stories and songs from his creative career.

Steintór Rasmussen’s webpage is an essential open collection of songs, stories, pictures, videos and ideas, easily accessible for all visitors.
"Studio Pegasus" was the first professional music studio in the Faroe Islands. And Steintór played a big part in the creation of the studio.
